It wasn't easy, no indeed. It happened because they flew in just as she was coming out of the house. They didn't notice her. She crept as close as possible. They did notice her but didn't fly ... right away anyway. Just a little closer ... oops. Too close.

Wow! This is very exciting! I have never seen any special ducks on my pond, although sometimes I see buffleheads and scaups in migration on the flooded cornfields near my house. I do hope these will stick around and maybe share the sight of their offspring with you!
