More Kindness

Sometimes life is pretty amazing.  Sometimes people are pretty amazing.  Goats are always amazing, but that's just a fact of life.  The Goatmother has had so many kindnesses extended to here during this whole 'Big C' routine, and yet they keep coming.  Yep, that's just flat out amazing.

I'm sure by now you are, yet again, saying, "Marigold, what the hay are you talking about now?"  Well, okay, I admit that I might occasionally go off on a few tangents, but that's just because my thought processes are so advanced it sometimes becomes difficult for my brain to keep them all properly aligned.  As my friend Monk used to say, "It's a blessing.  And a curse."

Anyway, the kindness I'm talking about is this:

"What is that, Marigold?", I'm sure you are asking?  Well, this, my friends, is a countdown!  A tea countdown, to be exact.  You see, there is a tea bag for every day the Goatmother has left of radiation treatments.  As each day passes, she can take down that day's tea and drink it...until no tea is left.  That will be cause for great celebration because then the Goatmother will be DONE with radiation!

The truly wonderful and remarkable thing about this is where it came from.  There is a quite lovely lady who has a blog here.  Now the astounding thing about it is  that this woman just recently lost her beloved husband, and yet she took the time to not only think about the Goatmother, but make her this beautiful gift!  Didn't I tell you that people are remarkable?

And lest you not realize the true extent of this magnanimous gesture, please observe this:

Originally, one of these was attached to each bag of tea.  However, the U.S. Postal Service, ever gentle as they are with our packages (cough... cough....) managed to dislodge them all by the time they arrived.  No matter.  They would have had to be taken off to be eaten anyway.  Just saved me time.  Besides, it's all good, remember?

So this lovely lady not only took the time to do something so nice for the Goatmother, she actually included a thought for moi.  Doubly remarkable, although I am awfully memorable.

Thank you, sweet Ginnie.  You are a brave and beautiful soul.  We can only add you to our list of those we will never adequately be able to repay.  Blessings to you!

"Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another's trouble,
Courage in your own."
~Adam Lindsay Gordon

Disclaimer:  You may notice that there are many bags of tea in the picture above.  This would be due to the fact that we are SO behind around here!  My apologies to Ginnie for taking so long to make this post.  And my apologies to the Goatmother because she has, in fact, ONLY 10 bags of tea left!!!!!  Woo Hoo!!!!  (Sorry.  I got a bit carried away.)

So glad to hear she's down to only 10 bags! Just think tomorrow it will be nine bags. Then 8...

Tea bunting! How lovely. And how very sweet of Ginnie.

Now the Goatmother can go around singing "Ten little teabags of tea on the wall, ten little teabags of tea...." (Mr. Monk would like that - ten is such a nice round number.)

I'm surprised more people don't send you Peanuts, Marigold. Just for the record, how do you like them? Shelled or whole? Raw or roasted? Salted or plain? And how do you feel about covering them with chocolate?

Marigold said...

Dear Mrs. Micawber,
Oy. Now you've done it. Yep. The Goatmother is going around singing that ridiculous song.
For the record, I like Peanuts shell and all. Ours are roasted and not salted...from Costco. Pretty much I'd eat them any way they come, but I must admit I have never tried chocolate. One never knows what might happen in the future though.

Marigold said...

Dear Millie,
Quite true. After tomorrow will be 9. Then she'll probably start singing Mrs. Micawber's song with a 9 in it...followed the next day by the SAME song with an 8 in it. Don't you feel sorry for me now?

Dear Auntie
Yes! Ending before Halloween! Yay! The Goatmother is still dressing up like ButterBean though. :)

Hey there! Been reoccuppied and after having a little brain surgery, you can't keep a good woman down. So glad to catch up on a few posts for a change. Seems everything stays the same, then everything changes. Had a little Seizure in the middle of the night and my youngest son heard me,,,rather the dog did. Must of made quite a racket in my sleep. Regardless, only a little golf ball tumor. Was at Mayo in just a day or two and within the week, those amazing Drs who put all their valuable time, patience and education into caring for us commoners is put to skill. I am a lucky one for now. It is Cancer, but frankly, I woke up and after a couple weeks of recovery...amazingly am starting to feel better and better? Could it possibly be the drugs? the Drs? The Lord? I'm taking it in with all its glory! Halleluia for TEA and Tea all around! Love Ya

Der MiMi,

Ration the tea, freely disperse the peanuts. Tea is the sustenance of life. Sound advice for anyone.

Only 10 days until D DAY(DONE DAY)-YIPEEEE!!!! Time flies when you are appointment hopping. How is the top crop progressing? Any tea leaves spotted?

Marigold said...

Dear 'Anonymous',
Now that's the spirit! Hand out those Peanuts! ALL to me!!!! I disagree, however, that tea is the sustenance of life. It is, of course, Peanuts.
No tea in the Goatmother's 'do'. And it seems to be bending toward silver now. Who knows how it will actually end up. She could be spotted like me. Now, THAT would be interesting.

Dear Candy,
That Ginnie is a sweetie for sure! I mean just how many people consider the goat, huh? Yay! for the countdown for sure!!!!

Snowcatcher said...

Ten days to go?!?!? Oh, my!!! What a beautiful and brilliant gift! Wish I'd thought of that! (I will in the future, you can be sure!)

Oh, and the teabags, too. (smirk)

Marigold said...

Dear SnowCatcher,
Eight days! Eight days!! Eight DAYS!!!!!

I have been away from blogging and reading for so long - I'm just seeing this (but I also saw your recent post that Goatmother is DONE with the radiation - and that is Such A Cute Picture of her!). It was a pleasure to make the countdown tea banner - sorry, Marigold, that the peanuts fell off the teabags while in transit. I had stuck them on with Elmer's Glue, because it said it was safe for kids. And you're still a kid at heart, right?

Marigold said...

Hey, Ho, Ginnie!
You bet we finished all the teas and, of course, all the Peanuts! Thank you so very much for them both! We know what it is to be waaaay behind on blogging and reading. :) You are in good company.
