The Snow

This is what it looks like when it snows. Can you see all that white stuff in my pasture (lower right corner)? Oy and brrrr.

But as bad as it is for a goat, this is what it looks like if you are a fuzzy little farm dog that loves romping in the snow almost as much as romping in the mud.

And this is what your face looks like if you are a fuzzy little farm dog, who loves romping in the snow, and your buns are frozen along with the snowballs.

Quite sad, really. "It doesn't matter if the water is cold or warm if you're going to have to wade through it anyway." - Teilhard de Chardin, French Geologist, Priest, Philosopher and Mystic.

Awwww, poor Cabra...I giggled when I saw these pics...those little snowballs are really hard to get out of their precious doggy fur!
I made the mistake of putting Roxy in her crate to "thaw" after our excursion yesterday....wrong move!
She came out about 20 minutes later shivering like you wouldn't believe. I wound up having to dry her with the blow dryer, just to warm her back up!
I think Cabra and Roxy would be great friends. :-)

Dear FarmGirl,
What the goatmother does is put her in the sink and spray all snowballs with warm water. Then she blow dries the Cabrarator. The problem is that the snowballs tend to like to make 'afternests' in the hair. Oy. Yes, I imagine she and Roxy would be great friends. That's okay, as long as they leave the Peanuts alone.

Marigold, I'm afraid "afternests" must be some kind of specialized goaty term, because I have no idea what this means. It is not in my human dictionary and, since I'm unable to currently locate my human/goat translation dictionary, I'm hoping you might be able to help me?
Roxy is more of a fruit eater, so I'm hoping she would steer clear of the precious peanuts.

Dear FarmGirl,
You do not speak goat? Why in the world not? Anyway, 'afternests' are what humans call 'mats'. My term is farm more picturesque, don't you think?

Oh how silly of me, not to have known this is what that term meant. I did not mention earlier that, after the Roxy-blowdryer episode, I spent another 30 minutes tugging the tangles (afternests) out of her fine hair. It was horrific. I'm sure you are much braver, Marigold, when your hair gets brushed and I'm betting that you would NEVER snarl at the goatmother, right?

Dear FarmGirl,
Wrong. A mere dog could not begin to protest like I can. I might not be able to growl, but you can not imagine the feats I am capable of when pressed. Hulk Hogan would be proud.
