Still Here, Still Kickin' ...

Do you like this picture?  It has nothing to do with anything.  It is a Himalayan Impatiens (Impatiens glandulifera).  It is part of the Garden-Gone-Wild gardening plan in place here due to the temporary injunction against Goatmother Gardening.  Seems like it managed pretty well on its own, though.

So, like I said, it has nothing to do with anything.  This is my 500th post.  That has nothing to do with anything either.  Who knew a goat could have so much to say?  Well, whoever thought that obviously never met me.   I suppose this ought to be a momentous occasion, but  due to a lack of Peanuts I'm not feeling very momentous.  Oh, not that we've run out of Peanuts, mind you.  It is just that I haven't had enough of them.  Come to think of it, I never have enough of them, so maybe I am living in a perpetual non-momentous state.  Now there's something to think about.

Anyway, I'm sure you are all wondering about the Goatmother anyway.  Well, the Goatmother made it through the last of the chemotherapy treatments.  Now while she didn't have quite as awful a time as the last, cumulative effects have wrought their vengeance and there seems to be a bit more trouble coming out from under the spell.   I suppose you could say the Goatmother isn't feeling very momentous either.  We shall prevail, however, so never fear.

The next step?  Radiation.  We are not sure exactly when this will begin, only that it should commence some time in the next 3 or 4 weeks.  We are fully expecting the Goatmother to begin glowing, but I think we'll have to draw the line if she starts resembling a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.  ButterBean is bad enough without adding anything green and shell-like into the mix, thank you very much.

So, then, onward and upward!  Stay tuned for the next exciting chapter in the ongoing saga against evil.

You could grow some peanuts in that garden. But then you'd have to save a few and not eat them and that would never do.
Glad to hear the goatmother is done with one chapter and starting a new. I hope she does glow...that would be awesome.

Dear GoatGirl,
Shhhh....don't give the Goatmother any ideas. On the other hand, I suppose we could always use her for a lantern.

Queen Quattra said...

A lantern...too funny...now that would be something to shed a little light on now, wouldn't it?? Sorry, I couldn't resist the Light-hearted pun...oh no, there's another one. I just can't help myself!! :)
Yes, we are very glad too that the Goatmother is feeling a tad better since her last round against evil...goodness always overcomes...or something like that!!

Yes, peanuts all around for all of us!!
And congratulations Marigold on your 500th post...yes, I believe you have even more to say than I do...and that is really saying something...oh no...another chatty pun...I better quit!!
Glow on Goatmother!!

Good! Done with the first stage. Or is it, done with the last stage of the first stage? Or.... Oh well, you know what I mean.

Sorry about the nastiness of the... effects. Yes Ma'am, I do remember our daughter lookin' might B-E-A-T, with some of this.

And next comes radiation. I can guarantee that you will not glow. Although, come to think of it, wouldn't that make a super-duper kind of a Halloween *costume,* with which to greet the Little Monsters, errrrr... Little Trick Or Treaters, this year?!?!? Scare the goat-poooooop out of them, hu?????

No, that's not nice. We have to be nice, to enhance healing and all that jazzzzzzzzzzzzz.. OK, I'll try.

But anyway, daughter had radiation and she never glowed. Of course, come to think of it, how much did we see of her, at NIGHT? Huuuuu? Huuuu? Huuuuu? At Night.....

Nahhhh, it couldn't have been MUCH glowing, or we would have heard tell of it.

And next... After all the this stuff and that stuff and the other stuff being done to you ----- Comes the getting to feel good again. And healing. And all that good stuff!!!!

Annnnnnnd, daughter did grown in the most gorgeous head of wavy hair. Ab fab gorgeous!

Yeah, I know. I've already disclosed that it eventually came in straight again. But! But! It was so darn cute, for a while.

And better than all of that --- She's been healthy since. Now THAT is the light at the end of the tunnel, or the carrot at the end of the stick. Oh... Sorrry "Marigold"... The PEANUT at the side of the barn! :-)

HUGS,
"Auntie"

Dear Queen Quattra,
Oh, no. More encouragement. The Goatmother is going to start hiring herself out. This can not be a good thing.

500 posts?!? You are truly a goat with a lot to say Marigold!
I'm glad the Goatmother has finished with that nasty chemo stuff. Hopefully, the radiation won't be as hard on her physically. But I agree with goatgirl and Queen Quattra, being able to glow might be pretty cool! :)

Dear Auntie,
And the glow goes on ... and the glow goes on... Oh, wait. That was 'the beat', wasn't it? Oh, well, whatever fits, eh? Yep. We be ready for some of that feelin' good stuff.

Marigold said...

Dear Auntie,
Now you've done it. We simply can NOT have any glowing headlights here.

Marigold said...

Dear Candy,
What have you done? You have joined the dark side. Oy. Oh, well. Of course! I am a goat with a lot of IMPORTANT things to say!

I think if Churchill were here he would say, "This is not the beginning of the end. It is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." (Which could apply equally to Marigold's blogging tendencies and the Goatmother's course of treatment.)

Remember that the Goatmother wears a Bracelet of Power. (Or did they take that away with the Power Port?) I think the Bracelet of Power ought to be able to absorb any glow-inducing tendencies. In default of the BOP, there is always the Lavender Cape of Good Hope to shield her from harmful rays. :)

What a very beautiful and exotic-looking impatiens.

P.S. I recently came across a reference to Boiled Peanuts. They sound absolutely dreadful. What is your opinion, Marigold?

Marigold said...

Dear Mrs. Micawber,
'Nevah, Nevah, Nevah give up!' (Sorry, I just had to say that.) The Goatmother's Bracelet of Power is still with her...likely for a year...so she better be doing some powerful things while she can. It *could* protect her from the 'glow', however, don't you think that might be a good use for the boiled Peanuts. I don't think anyone here would want to actually eat them, so might as well put them to some other good use. What do you think?

If any glowing happens it will just enhance the glowing personality the Goatmother has and help to shine a little more light to the computer screen for Marigold to see even better to keep on blogging. Only if her eyes start glowing like a Chupacabra would I worry a little.

Marigold said...

Dear BuffyBelle,
If her eyes start glowing like a Chupacabra we may be forced to unplug her. But as long as she doesn't turn into a Chupacabra, we are probably okay. Halloween is coming, though, so you never know.

I too have a garden-gone-wild scheme going on this year....I think some of my flowers grow inspite of my gardening 'techniques'

Glad you're out the other side of the first treatments....as you say onwards and upwards!

Marigold said...

Dear Faith,
In some ways the Goatmother thinks the Gardening-Gone-Wild is actually a better approach. On the down side, the weeds seem to think so too. :) Yes, onwards and upwards!!! Let the glow begin!

Once more into the breach, luv!
You have done an OUSTANDING job of it!

And see, didn't I say that graden would still grow? :)

Wishing you a peaceful time of the new go 'round.......

(and many, many Peanuts for someone else we love as well!)

Dear MiMi,
Thank you for your encouragement (and the Peanuts). :) Onward and upward!
