Naughty Or Nice?

A quick note.  The Goatmother went to the bathroom again.

Ever since being diagnosed with Cancer, the Goatmother has been on a quest to change her diet.  One of the things prevalent in this quest is to religiously read labels.  Reading labels can be quite like sorting through a murky swamp.  What you can't see, but trip over nonetheless, might just be the thing that does you in.

The Goatfather found this on the Internet and sent it to the Goatmother.  He thought it might brighten that blank and miserable look on her face for a few seconds ... thereby giving him enough time to come out of hiding and go to the bathroom himself.  I'm just sayin' ...  These things are important.

Anyway, here it is.  A classic to be sure:

Which is WHY I keep telling her that Peanuts are the absolute, all-time perfect food.

Very wise. You know, my lady has YET to get me a peanut! Harrumph.

You may be correct in that assumption. Just make sure the darn factory is free of salmonella. They get you any way you turn.

Dear Isobelle,
This is not good. Your lady may end up with coal in her stocking! OY.

Dear Kelly,
Right, ho! You must be vigilant at every turn!

And my personal favourite: "No MSG Added". With a little star that matches up to some miniscule printing that says something to this effect: "Besides what we already put in".

P.S. "Natural Flavoring" is also usually code for MSG. For a truly horrifying read, check out this site:

You're so right about the Peanuts, Marigold. :)

I do agree! Peanuts and hay make the perfect diet.

Dear Mrs. Micawber,
MSG. Does that stand for Mixed So-So Grain? Thank you for the link. We'll check it out! :) In the meantime, guard the Peanuts well.

Dear Candy,
If we'd all make bread and baked goods like you do, we wouldn't have to worry about this stuff, now would we? :)

Dear Millie,
Yes, I guess you do have to throw in the hay. Important to get fiber and greens in one's diet.

sadly, it is just the way it's written on that note... they feed us and make use believe that they care. what a ...!
nothing can be better than the naturally grown vegetables, fruits, healthy amount of natural oil and fat. same is for sugar-free things.. come on, is the chemical they offer instead is better than real sweetener? take care, Goatmother! will visit you again soon :)

Dear Hindustanka,
Right you are! And don't forget Peanuts in your list. Can't forget the Peanuts. :)

How sadly true. Love Sue's link, too. Although I do agree peanuts probably are the healthiest food on the planet, I'm a big fan for doin' it myself whenever possible, and growin' it myself whenever possible. Which means I should be losing lots of weight since I can't seem to grow much, huh?

Marigold said...

Dear SnowCatcher,
Does this mean you can grow your own Peanuts? I knew I like you. Can you get 3-to-a-shellers to grow? Oh, be still my beating heart!!!!!

That list is nearly as bad as a catheter and could very well lead to the necessity of one...shudder.

Hindustanka said...

surely, Goatmother. Peanuts is my husband's favorite nut:)so we eat them regularly.

Dear Hindustanka,
Bravo! Bravo! I knew I liked you! :)
