The Aftermath ...

Before I get carried away, (Carried away?  Who me?) allow me to express a heartfelt Happy Mother's Day! to all of you who care for and nourish children, husbands, mothers, relatives, charges, fur babies - even plants!  You are ALL mothers, so Happy Day to you!

Now then, here we are two days after the fact.  Today we get to take a look at the damage.  Can't say as we are really looking forward to it, but remember, 'It's ALL good!'  The giant, economy-sized ACE bandage slipped a little during the night and the Goatmother got a glimpse of things to come.  Now she wants to be called FrankenGoatmother.  I swear, by the time this is over, that woman is going to have so many aliases she will be able to join the CIA!  Oy.

At any rate, other mysterious marks have surfaced.  Numerous little red spots on one hand, strange red orbs on one knee.  We suspect Alien abduction.  After all, the Goatfather and the Goatneighbor were in that little room, and the Goatmother was gone for hours.  She doesn't remember any bright lights, but then she doesn't remember much of anything.  Come to think of it, her memory wasn't all that good before, so double jeopardy.  We may never know, but "I'm more certain than ever that the truth is out there, Scully..."

A few days to recuperate, then we see our much loved surgeon again. (And I DO NOT mean this lightly.  The Goatmother's surgeon is top-notch and a fantastic person!)  Beyond that, we have some radiation to do and possibly chemotherapy.  We are playing the waiting game again.  Cancer does not know the word 'hurry'.  And really, that's okay.  I suppose it is just like losing weight.  It didn't come on overnight and it isn't going to go away overnight.  (I have copied this last part to give to Boo.  That, plus I've added 'Battleships weren't built in a day', 'Freighters do not reach their destinations overnight' and 'Truckers are in it for the long haul'.  Then, just for good measure, I added, 'Boo, you are fat.', because you can never get too simple for the Nubian mind. )

So, my friends, we want to thank you again for being there - for your kindness, your caring, your humor and your butting!!! (I do so hope you aren't tired of hearing that!)   We are so very humbled.

Goodness, you and Coral will be able to compare scars and see who had the better vet/surgeon. :-)

Dear Millie,
I don't know. This could result in a case of 'one-upmanship'. You know, like 'Well, mine is longer.', or 'Well, mine has a curlique on the end', or Well, mine is much more symmetrical'. Oy.

Glad you are home and among goatie friends. I'm at work and have to keep it short. Not suppose to be on computer for checking on friends. Much Love from all us old goats.

Dear Kelly,
Shhhhhhh. Mums the word! (Get it? 'Mums' the word? Mother's Day? Mum? Ha! I kill me!)

'It's all good' and ' all in good time' ....all in all, lots of alls.

Hope today goes ok, and that the docs are pleased with the healing so far, and remember if the docs have green skin and eyes on stalks you may not be barking up the wrong tree on the alien front.x

Dear Faith,
Green doctors. Hmmmm...perhaps that is where the whole dye idea came from. You never know. Life *is* a mystery.

I'm glad the Goatmother has such a wonderful surgeon AND that she is also a nice person, that always helps! Curious about the spots and orbs...(cue the Twilight Zone theme).

After my recent surgery I discovered a square patch on my leg. It was like a shadow was left there of some device. I had all sorts of ideas as to what caused it, but I think that you are quite clever, Marigold to realize that these things come from Alien Abduction. Perhaps the aliens don't like peanuts and the goatmother smelled of them and so was sent back? Best to tell her to get her hands in the peanut jar. And make sure her beloved goats smell of them, too.

Dear Candy,
You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead — your next stop, the Twilight Zone. :)

Dear Terry,
Vigilance is necessary at all times. One never knows where they might be or who they might be. You are probably correct in the assumption that the smell of Peanuts may act as a deterrent. Perhaps we should notify Dior and have them make an Eau de Peanut. It sure couldn't hurt.

Your goatmother is back and talking philosophically. What stamina and courage!

Let's ignore spots, marks, scars and the like. Not important - the cure is, however. And that is what we are all waiting for. Right?

Marigold said...

Dear Zitrone,
Right you are! And those marks... alien abduction or not, they are battle scars and something to be proud of!!!

It is wonderful that you love your doctor/surgeon so much - this is something to feel very fortunate about. To have found a healthcare practitioner that listens to you, cares well for you and does incredible work is no small feat!
I'm so glad this procedure is behind you.
Sending you my very strongest healing thoughts and prayers...

Dear Danni,
Thank you for the healing thoughts and prayers. They are very much appreciated. I am so lucky in so very many ways. Now if I could just get rid of this itch! Arrrrgh!

OK, no more aliases!!! LOL! FrankenGoatMother! You have gone "as-fur-as-you-can-go" now. -chuckle-

Your attitude is wonderful. No doubt about it. And seeing the good sides, has to be a wiser thing to do. Like, when did moaning-about, ever do anyone any good? Goat or human.

But only work at this fun-stuff, while it feels good. In other words, it's also OK to ...... Not be grrrrrreat, all the time, too. 'Cause we will understand.

No, I know. No one can understand, unless one has been there. I know. But my daughter "has been there," a few years ago. So, I do have a little idea. And of course, she has been cancer free since!!!

Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

Ah, this sounds reasonably good. WE will wait for more news.

Dear GoatFarmer,
We are sure hoping good news continues. Stay tuned. Same time, same station. :)

Dear Auntie,
Thank you for reminding us that it is okay to be less than great. 'Tis a roller coaster for sure. But, we LOVE hearing that your daughter has done so well! This gives us lots of encouragement for the not-so-great times! Thank you!
